Anyone know a good place with reasonable pricing? I need 8 tires mounted and balanced. $180 is a bit much for my taste...

I have a minor sponsorship with a tire dealer here in the High Desert. When they don't do it for free for me, they charge $10 per tire...mounted and balanced.

I'm paying $15 each for mounting and balancing. I drive them on the street, after a few events and did without getting them balanced once.
Learned my lesson.

You must have gone to America's Tire... I made that mistake once. haha... There's a good place in Fontana called Pacific Tire that would probably do it for $100/$120, but that's the closest thing to you that I know of... And that's not very close.

I go to Econo Tire in Stanton. They charge me $50 for four tires mounted and balanced. Very fast and I haven't had an issue yet.

Bob's Tire! Toby, where do you live? "@4000 feet" would suggest Oak Hills.

Western Hills Estates, off the 247 as you're leaving Yucca Valley. So we are probably an hour apart?
I go up that way when I go to Willow Springs and Buttonwillow.

Action Tire in Mission Viejo is $14-15 a tire. They're pretty reasonable on other auto work also.

Are there any reasonably priced shops in the southbay (Torrance/Gardena) area? I thought the norm used to be $15-20 per tire, but now all I hear from local shops is $25-30 with separate fees for dismounting old tires, mounting/balancing, and valve stems.

That's where I've been going since 2006, dealing with Armando and getting charged $60 total. But when I called them this week, I was getting Gabriel on the phone, and he told me they charge $100 to swap the new tires onto the wheels.

Maybe I should ask for Armando and see what he says.
