What's the word on them ?

Has anyone talked directly to someone who did well?

I spotted that Craig Klippel seemingly did well.
He out Raw timed STR if I am reading the results from sololive properly.
Not sure due to it being a different format

I read somewhere that Klippel switched to Toyos on day 2.

Could be internet BS

Toyo can nev4r l0s3! I'll eat my hat if the Rival ends up faster than the Toyo on small cars.

As usual, it depends on who shows up. The Dixie site is long(ish) and narrow, therefore it is transition intensive. I can see a narrow Miata on Toyos in cool conditions doing quite well against STR drivers with less experience than Kraig. I bet Wongers would have been even faster, especially if he has eaten at the seafood buffet beforehand. ;)

Also note that in STX, the world's most hyped BRZ build (Sorry Bill) could only muster a cool 3rd place. Maybe the SEB did OK in classing "The Twins".

Spoke to Kraig. He ran the Rivals on Sat, didn't make the Match. Put the Toyo's on Sunday, made the top seed in the Bonus to make the Match.
Felt the the Rivals had no lateral grip on Sat, vs Sun runs on the Toyo's. However found the opposite to be true when run back to back in a local event a few weeks prior, which is why he ran the Rivals in the first place. Could be a temperature issue (was very cold at the Match, high in the 40's), or could be a surface difference. He's not sure.

To add another data point (and stir the pot a little }:) ), I ran against a very fast local driver in a newly half-built BRZ last weekend. Suspension, wheels and tires were about the extent of the prep. I was in Charlie's BMW. Both cars on Z2s.

I was beaten by 4 tenths on a 40 second course. The BRZ looked very efficient out there.

The fix was in! Admit it, Charlie paid you to take the fall.
