Good day everyone, thought I would share my runs from Sunday. I thoroughly enjoyed myself out there on sunday although I just felt like I wasn't getting around the top turn around as fast as I thought I should have been. I don't know if anyone else felt the same way. I just felt like I had no traction up there at the top, almost like no weight transfer was occurring. uhh but what are you going to do right? All & all a great time and thank you to everyone that helped but it together.

The way yesterday's course was set up, the pavement sloping away means you get no camber help up at the top. That's one of the things that makes Fontucky fun and challenging.

Yeah that makes some sense. It made it feel like I was out in the dirt when I knew I wasn't. I always appreciate the little challenges like that.

I loved those slippery corners. They make you have to rethink what line really works best for each corner. Going up the hill in the slalom (or wall-om), the last right turn in front of the last "wall" was really tricky. Saw a lot of people spin there, and almost lost it myself at one point. I don't think I took that turn the same way on any of my runs. I think the hill has a bit of a crest there, and the car deweights a little at that point. Almost blew right by the chicago box once too, haha.

A slightly different POV. Sunday Run #3. 45.087, only .018 behind Jon Clements' top time of the day.

Robert has chased Jacob Baltazar all year and most of the time hasn't been close. Robert has some big wins like Farmington and took the ProSolo Pacific Zone, but Jacob didnt run. At Nationals, Robert nipped Jacob day one and Jacob came back and got him second day to be ahead overall by .110. But that did signal Robert was closing the gap. Last local event Robert had a very solid second place. Sunday morning I told Robert this would be his last chance til 2016 to run head to head against Jacob. Robert declared boldly that he was going to win. Parents laugh off cocky 9yo..... Course walk didn't seem to go well. Robert didn't seem focused. Helmet on, sitting in the kart. Game face arrived. The ADHD poster child can bring steely focus to the line if he wants to. Maybe its SADD (Selective Attention Deficit Disorder)?

49.613 on third run after locking up position over Jacob on his second run. 16th overall in Pax. 6th fastest CASOCr just missing the team. Fourth run Robert wanted to try and go faster EVERYWHERE. That didn't work out so well. First Cal Club JB win, joining Cyan Kalman as the only two JBrs to knock off Jacob this season locally. Dane and Cyan have the option next year to run JB and probably will continue the battle with Robert. Robert's birthday is after Nationals so he can't run as a 12yo. He will have two more season in JB. Robert's buddy from Colorado Johan Yost is also 9 and was second this year at Nationals. Robert beat him earlier at Farmington to top him in the Pacific Zone. Robert and Johann (and Cyan if she goes) would have to be the early favorites for 2014 Nationals. Cyan is wildly inconsistent, but capable of amazing flyers. Dane is capable but needs more aggression. He could surprise at anytime. Next year could be fun for these kidlets.

Nice ... this wasn't shot in the 960 setting? (Even in 960 one can post in 1080)

I found I kept straining to see ahead. In 960 one gets a taller aspect ratio ... good for karting ... so one can see steering and way ahead.

Here's my best run from Sunday. 53.832 good for 8/16 cars in RTR, my best finish so far this year. Anyone have any advice or input based on my driving? Thanks!

Ok, I finally pulled the pictures off the camera that Kencey and I took. Should be free to download if you want. No cropping, etc. done. And we're not the best of photographers. YMMV. Objects in mirror and all that.
