Presuming I did not miss a posting, I was wondering how Karen is doing. It sounded like she was having a tough time at the hospital during our last event.

Thanks for posting, Mako. We will hope and pray for a "clear" biopsy. Keep us posted. And thanks for the photo.

You guys gave Karen The Biggest Smile (=relief!) by making that Get Well card!!! Steve just dropped it off. Unfortunately we were both napping, having not slept much last night. We both thank you so much!
Biopsy op at 4 pm ...

We just took a walk down the hallway, pushing her intravenous tree. She couldn't find anyone to race. Bunch of sick people ...

Well...volunteer to walk backwards or something to give her someone to compete against. :ibrightdea:

As we suspected, lymphoma. Won't know until Monday exactly what type.
With the real surgeon Doc Martin. "Doc Martin" is one of our favorite English TV series. (Available on Netflix)
Doc is out of Hollywood casting. Think Roman K. in stature, but with an even deeper voice.

Well...we are certainly sorry to hear THAT. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how we got from severe gastritis to lymphoma. We'll wait for further reporting. Where is she? Has she been in the hospital this entire time since the last event?

Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena.
6 weeks ago she dropped out of our GoKart race after Practice, complaining of fatigue. She thought she had the flu, achiness, stomach upset. Her GP said it was gastritis. Put her on Nexum. She went to bed. Gradually the pain in her abdomen increased to the point that I finally got her to go to the ER. Karen is VERY stoic!

Do we know exactly what's wrong with Karen, Mako?

What's wrong with Karen? She's very smooth, just lacks a little aggression. Oh, you mean why she's laying around ...
Karen has peripheral T-cell lymphoma, NOS (not otherwise specified)
Chemo = CHOP + Etoposide.
6 treatments of Etoposide, three weeks apart, started this morning.
Bone marrow is still good. They are storing some of her bone marrow in case they need it later.

Barco ... as fast at work as he is on the track! Chx out the LINK below.
He recently did a track day/test session at Buttonwillow with a 600+ HP STI ... and in his first racing in years posted the 2nd fastest time of the day ... beating the car owner?!
