A great actor, a great driver, and a great philanthropist. There are none like him left in Hollywood.

Along with Steve McQueen, he had the potential to be a really Great, accomplished race driver if he would have started younger and concentrated on that area. RIP ... :(

I found out at our dinner banquet for our driving school (BMWCCA) in Fontana and it was mentioned he was also a Cal Club member? If so that's two gone (P. Hill, P. Newman). RIP

He lived in Connecticut, so I don't know about the Cal Club connection, but he was an SCCA member.

There are very few people that I'd want to "be": Cary Grant, Robert Redford and Paul Newman. What an amazing man he was!
