Nice job Kevin. Too bad the view through the face shield wasn't as clear as the camera view. By the time I got to the finish area on my fast run, everything was just a blur, hence the DNF on the last gate. But it was very fun course for the kart, even in the wet (well, once we switched to the rain tires ;) ).

Out of curiosity, would it work better with the face shield up on a kart, or is the water blinding?

1st (75.308) and 4th (71.972) runs in ES/S2. 1st run was a bit slippery. 4th run much cleaner.

-- Karters are constantly pelted by rocks - the number of whacks the helmet-mounted GoPro takes is significant.

-- The tires throw off giant rooster tails of water which would be like running a lawn sprinkler in your face!

Are "bicycle" fenders illegal for karts?

Not legal to run visor up in an open car.

I think you can add body work to karts. Did you see what Nakata did?

Here's mine from 4th heat. Mostly dry. 70.8
Felt really good. Have no idea where to find the two seconds I need to just be in the hunt. I think For Sale sign is the only solution. But thanks to the SEB nobody will buy an STC or STS car. Not the class for fat clueless idiots.
Car feels perfect. Its a blast to drive. Cheap to campaign. But I'm not sticking around if I can't even be mid-pack trophy fodder.

Don't you and will collect data to compare?

We collect it. We don't use it anymore. Will has Race Technology burn out. I used to use it at Pros, but if I go a month I forget how to use it. Ridiculously bad software. I bought a Bad Elf GPS and Race trace last week but with the karts and the rain, it never made it out of the truck.

Here is Robert's best run. An 80.xxx

He got to attack the turn big muddy turnarounds five times each and butchered them every time. And he drove past and swung big on the final turnaround driving an extra 200 ft or so... He likes to drift it. Its been explained to him that it isn't usually the fastest way. His response is usually along the lines of "Leave me alone I know what I'm doing. Besides you suck dad." And he's right. Still frustrating watch him drive so well for 80% of each lap and then throw it away repeatedly without caring to correct it. Might be a kart for sale too.

It says "go faster, Steve". There just isn't an "a-ha" point in most cases and the time-slip function is almost a straight ramp. It comes down to setup for the corner and at-the-limit dynamic weight management through the turn, which you just don't see in the data. Steve being a mid-packer at Nationals peeking into trophy territory, he's not making gross mistakes that show up easily.

And, yes, the DL1 software is just atrocious in terms of useability. It's a shame, they got all the difficult technical aspects *nailed* and put it all behind a user interface that's like running through wet concrete to use. When I saw a whole new Version 8 come out, I was certain they were going to address it and in some ways, they made it even *worse*.
