If you had to scrounge tape at the last event...

I would like to thank George for sending out the e-mail on "YOUR" requirements for numbers and class letters. If you needed tape at the last event I would ask that you bring an extra roll and drop it off at Tech Inspection this weekend.
We are going to have a very large group of newer drivers and they are going to be in the same boat you were in. The "600" numbers will be at registration. The box with class letters will be at tech.
I will be helping again this weekend and you will remember me as the guy who asked you to return to the line when you were done getting your car empty of stuff and numbers / class info "on your car".
Based on how much trouble the course workers had calling in the numbers we will not be in the "wink and nod" mode.
See you Sunday. No, you do not need numbers if you are running Saturday. If you are not a CSCC points card holder we will not be giving out Sunday TECH stickers.

Numbers and Class Letters Required!
Cars numbers and class letters are required. It is the responsibility of each competitor to know and comply with number and class letter requirements. Here are some general rules to follow:
Number and class letters should be positioned next to each other.
All letters and numbers must be on body panels, not on windows.
All numbers and class letters must use the same typeface and the same color, and this color must provide adequate contrast to the background color.
Numbers must be a minimum or 8” high.
Class letters must be a minimum of 4” high.
Click here for the SCCA National Rules on car identification.
A personalized set of rules compliant magnetic or vinyl nunbers and class letters are very inexpensive. Click here for a link to a local supplier used by many of our competitors. These can also be obained for a number of different sources online.
For those of you not ready to make the commitment to purchase your own number set, purchase a jumbo maker and make your own temporary tape-on numbers. Use one sheet of standard copy paper positioned vertically for each individual number and one sheet positioned horizontally for your all your class letters. Use masking tape to fasten to the side of the car. These will be large enough to be easily seen and compliant with the rules.
