Upcoming event this weekend questions (7th/8th)

Post by Paul Churgin »

Hey guys!

Two questions. One, I registered as a Split entry for this Saturday's practice, and I see myself on the list, but not my co-driver that I was planning on driving with me on the entry list. Do their names not pop up on the list, or do I just see my name, and when we register she'll register with me?

Number two: I haven't signed up for Sunday's event because I requested a Points Card renewal with a number change, and I requested number 83. I know I haven't been autocrossing for long, in fact, this event will mark 1 year I've been doing this now. But I plan on sticking around for a long while, and will be doing the ProSolo and other bigger events, and would've liked to grab a sub-200 number. 83 was available on the list, and I requested it. I paid the $20 for it, and it came out, but I haven't seen on the points card listing that I received the number, and haven't gotten anything saying pick a new number, sorry, or I got it. I want to register for Sunday if it's not too late, but I currently don't have a number to do so.

Thanks guys!

I'd vouch for Paul. He's a keeper.

Kurt (point card czar) has been very busy, he may have put it aside to ask the board about releasing the number.

Thanks Craig! Hopefully another number, like 68 isn't taken? 83 and 68 were the two I was hoping for, and both are shown as available. If Art has 83, hopefully I can snag 68. My old number, 386, seems to be stuck on MotorsportReg, not sure why that is...

Anyone have any ideas as to why my co-driver doesn't show up in the Practice list?

Co-drivers do not show on the entry list. You are listed as a shared entry with Amy as your co-driver on the reports the organizers use.

Can't help with the Car number, but go ahead and register with what you have. I can fix the results retroactively once it's sorted out.

Art was my co driver for the last two years with 83, he had to dial back his retirement hobbies this year and is not not coming out too much.
He has had that number for 10+ years and will be back next year to my understanding.

I don't believe we have a grace period anymore on numbers. We used to hold them for like two years. Now we don't even allow squatting. That is, even if you pay for the number, if you don't run for some period of time, you lose the number.

Perhaps helping at an event would qualify someone to keep their number? it wouldn't cost much if anything, it would show they are still in the sport, and could also cover injury.
