I had Hoosiers on today and they were getting no traction.

Cold temps and dust I guess, no other reason I know of.

I can imagine how street tires were today.

oh that three runs not very fun pushing everywhere as expected

back to my 4 azenis for the x runs

think my azenis are dead from willow three weeks ago and about 50-150 heat cycles lol

famous line coming from awd guy max at the end of the day

'jeff i saw you drifting around the first left hander' - 'ya max had no grip and i went with it'

..full plow mode with rear only r comps cuz i dont have the front yet

or full drift mode unless i tip toed and who wants to do that in their x runs

what class am i going to run next near... i will finally have r comps but not much of an es class.. i pretty much refuse to run 195/60/14 azenis on 14" rims in sk2 which is the only decent 14" street tire option... 195/14's in the rear are just too tiny to be fun anymore supporting 58 percent of 2500 pounds

Dunlops on the Subaru had all kindsa grip, the car is really driving amazingly well. I'd refer to it as "dialed in". Tons of initial turn in (as shown by me running over the first cone on coarse), and great power exiting the corners. We even drove to the event on the race tires ;) .

I want to thank everybody involved in the GRA event for making the event run smoothly despite unpleasant weather conditions in the morning. It was really, even indescribably fun for me to come out to a normal, local event again, and I really look forward to getting back into "the swing of things" for the rest of the season

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs

+1 on that. I love these Dunlops. I had no problem finding good grip yesterday. They held in the sweepers quite nicely. I only wish I had pushed them more. I left a lot of time out there always thinking they wouldn't hold when they did so with ease.

Gotta get me a set of those.

My old Falkens had me sliding the Miata's rear end all over the place yesterday. I think someone commented at one point that I looked ready for a drift event. Judging from my in-car video - it didn't help that I didn't really have a good entry line for three of the corners during competition.

I think that was me... I remember saying something about you being ready to try out for the Long Beach drift event, you had some serious drift angles going on in the Miata, and It looked like fun!

You weren't around for the fun runs after - it was even looser and I was still able to chop off a full second! And, yeah, it was a pretty wild ride - almost as good as driving Reijo's car on near-bald Falkens...

If it helps your frame of reference any, I had on the Dunlop Direzza Z1 tires pre-Star Specs. So the Star Specs are supposedly a little better.

For the record, your Evo was MUCH easier for me to get a 55-second lap in than my Miata!

I got a 54.2 just by putting the R-comps ON AN H STOCK CAR...

Street tires = more money for Hookers and Blow...............................Right????

I had good grip from my 710s. Better than one of my numbers, a red '5', which came off somewhere.
