Hope no one is affected from the Fires!!! Our area was told possible evacuation if the winds pick up so we just moved our cars, just in case, so we don't have to move them later during the night...

Daym Socal fires

We're packed and ready to go if we get the word in Porter Ranch.

That's cool. The phone's burned down (no pun intended) with positively everyone calling us today to the point that it was slowing down our prioritizing and packing.

(ok I intended the pun)

Maybe I should come park my van and Civic in your driveway. That much closer to the S2000...

Will-

Damn, forget what I was saying about wanting one of those homes across the canyon from you....

If you need a big truck call me anytime of night, I'll probably be up whining about my shoulder. If you guys need a messy house full of toys, movies, cartoons, and video games, the whole manaergie is always welcome here. We even have a fence yard for the cujo's. Again, if they boot you at 3am don't worry about calling.

As your attorney I advise you to visit Will immediately with both vehicles....

Go on with your "only have time to snap pix and upload code in HTML1.0" self.

Seriously though, sending my best thoughts out to everyone there. We had some nasty fires near here earlier this year and it's definitely scary when embers and ash are raining down all night long. :( Unfortunately, that kind of kindling is a lot harder to deal with effectively than hardwoods dying a sudden death.

We are packed and ready to go in case the fire heads down our way. Last night, they were evacuating almost directly north of us on the 118.

We got evac'd about 10pm and I stayed until about 2am watering down bushes and knocking embers out of the sky with the hose. Whee!

But everything's good and we're back home. Thanks for the well-wishes and offers! After the fire of '88 which burned half my neighborhood down (before I got here in '96), everyone takes fire defense very seriously.

Good to see everyone is safe,

For those with pools have you thought about getting a pump and hose .

I posted a few more pics at the same address. In one, you can see my house with the Escort in the driveway and where the burn went to. We have a huge buffer space but the embers lighting your landscaping on fire and that lighting your attic on fire through the eave vents is the real danger.

Attic fire is a very scary proposition.

My mom has a pump that she keeps under the diving board at her house in Santa Barbara. They and the neighbors do a wet rehearsal at least once a year. They're only a house over from the Mesa ... which is a big fire fuel dump. Local SB fire dept did a controlled burn up there a few months ago, but when I was visiting a few weeks ago, it was still or again overgrown with dry grass and bushes.

With all these fires going on, I hope and pray that everyone stays safe and out of harms way.

Never really worried about them as I don't live in the usual hotspots.......until late last night early morning. RIght behind me.

Yikes! Then going to work on the I-405 North I saw the remnants.
