Hey All,

CSCC will be hosting a Novice School at AutoClub Speedway the weekend after Thanksgiving, Nov 28-29th.
(Event Registration will be posted on Motorsportreg.com in a couple of days)

The School will be a 1-Day program held on Saturday (Nov 28th) followed by an Open Practice on Sunday (Nov 29th).
The purpose of this school is to introduce new members to the sport of SCCA autocross. The school is suited for beginners
interested in autocross and looking to learn basic car control skills, or intermediate drivers who want improve on their autocross skills.

Students will have the option for priority entry to the Open Practice on Sunday, if they choose for 2-Day Entry.

For others just looking to burn off those Thanksgiving calories with a little bit of autocross, you can also just look to enter the Sunday Open Practice only.

For this event weekend, there will be no Championship Points event.

Pricing for the School and Open practice is as follows:

$55.00 – One Day School Entry Only (Includes Lunch and Weekend SCCA Membership)

$110.00 – Two Day Student Entry (School and Open Practice w/priority Entry)

$65.00 – Sunday Open Practice Entry Only (please understand priority will go to students)

School Eligibility:

Novice Eligibility: A person who has participated no more than 3 days per year within the last 3 years. A day is defined as any autocross or Solo event, run by any organization not limited to CSCC Solo or SCCA.
Beginner Eligibility: A person who has not participated in a full points season with the CSCC region or any of its counterparts. A full points season is defined as running enough races during a regular season to be considered a competitor in the class which they are running
Intermediate Eligibility: A person who has participated in a full points season with the CSCC region or any of its counterparts and is looking to further improve their driving school with one on one time with a more experienced driver coaching them throughout the day.

Entries are granted on a first-come/first-in basis. If the number of applications received on the final day exceeds the number of spaces available, late entrants will be put on a wait list.
Entry limit is 60 students. No restrictions at this time on type of entries.

We will look to have a student/instructor ratio of 2-3 students per every instructor.

If any of you have friends that you would like to introduce to the sport, this is a great opportunity!!! PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD!!!! :D

If you would like to volunteer as an instructor, please PM either me or Jonathan Hartendorp for details.
Instructors will have free entry to the Sunday Open Practice.

Logistics question:

- Does the Saturday School format support situations where 2 novices may be sharing 1 car?

Sorry no sharing of cars by students for the school.

It is listed in the special rules section at the bottom of the flyer :)

If we have enough turnout to make 3 to 4 run groups, we should be able to accommodate shared vehicles for the school (no promises!).

How do you know if you are on the wait list or are in the school and practice? My name is listed on the entry list but the e-mail I received said I was on the wait list. Thanks, Kathy

Please recheck the site. You should be listed as confirmed.
The waitlist was used as we needed to ensure space for students on Sunday.

Actually, I dragged my feet a bit too long and wanted to see if I can get Matt into the school as a student (and perhaps Sunday practice if it's not all booked up). MSR has the front door locked, so I can't waitlist him. Although, at this point, maybe he should instruct and I should re-enroll as a student!

We currently have room for about 2-3 more students for 1 Day School Entry Only.
PM me and I will register him :)

BIG THANKS to all who volunteered their time to help make this weekend a success!

Judging from many of the conversations heard around the paddock, all the students had a great time and some already have seemly been bit by the autocross bug!!!

Looking forward to see how many return next season!

Great Job on event master Sean!! School was very well organized.

Each student had 1:1 time for the whole heat they were in and really appreciated it!!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and worked so hard to make the Novice School possible.

The event was so well organized, and the amount of seat time and instruction was amazing - thanks Bill : )

I really cannot thank everyone enough and I am looking forward to next season.
