I feel as dumb for not asking what time as Ron should for missing San Diego by 100 miles.
He gets in at 8:10 a.m. and carries only a helmet bag and a smile. Thanks, folks!

If he landed at LGB or ONT, he would have missed the Q by ~100 miles... LAX overshot San Diego by more.

There actually are 15 non-stop flights from LAX to SAN
