2008 F1 Podium Picker Challenge: Brazilian Grand Prix: Rd 18

Okay boys & girls......THIS IS IT! The grand finale (round 18) of the 2008 season and it's come down this! Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) leads by just a few points over Felipe Massa (Ferrari). And in this picker game, myself and Larry after being mid-packers have emerged as front-runners with one final race left. But it's mathematically possible for several. All that has to happen is I pick no one correct, and others get the hat trick (25 points)! So good luck to all.
Get your picks in before qualifying (9am PST - Saturday).

very unlikely to happen, but i would laugh for a very long time if Hamilton lost by 1 point again.

Considering I am 4th from last in this challenge, yes I need something that radical to happen for me to move up.

Kimi doesn't have to crash; he can't win the driver's championship.

i think it's more of a Kimi crash into Hamilton scenario ala Canadian GP.
that would be .. interesting..

Great minds think a like......
But Kimi isn't so keen on being a team player.... At least to the degree he'd crash somebody.

Kimi's orders are to finish as high up as possible to secure the Constructor's Championship. Ferrari will have to hope that there's something the "unbiased" local stewards can use to give the Driver's Championship to Massa.

Anyone remember 1989 and 1990? In 89, Prost crashes into Senna at Suzuka, taking him out of title contention, and in 1990 Senna returns the favor. I'd love to see some drama...give us a traveshamockery to discuss in the offseason!

Prost was such an ass.
I idolized Senna from he first time I saw him race a POS Toleman to 2nd place in Monaco in the rain. So of course I hated Prost too.

The famous Monaco qualifying lap where Senna wins pole by a second is great; at the end Prost just looks stunned that someone could have gone that much faster.

McLaren is going to throw a "Hail Mary" pass and put Heikki on a light fuel load so he can up in the front to help Lewis block the Ferraris and secure the constructor's and driver's championship for Mercedes while hometown Brazilian Felipe Massa is the back-marker of the podium. Remember it's South American race so time zone is a bit closer to us. Qualifying starts @9am PST so you have time (if you wake up that early).
- 1. Lewis Hamilton - Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
- 2. Heikki Kovalainen- Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
- 3. Felipe Massa - Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro
