Someone please offer Aaron a co-drive for 2009, so he no longer has to embarrass himself by continually begging in every other thread.

Max, you paid $10 for that Miata Photo you're now using as your avatar?

Maybe, but that wasn't the only photo I got. From the sequence, I concluded that my car rolls like a boat!

Anyway, I'm a sucker for a good photo!

Looks like you're a sucker for bad photos too! just kidding. I'm also a sucker-- I bought the photos from Nationals...

Back on topic, why doesn't Aaron want to co-Miata with you?

aaron's 6'4

edit: which, apparently, is a problem.

also, is max really going to auto-x the miata for the 09 season? or is that just a "for the time being" thing? i thought it's his daily driver.

There are maybe two permutations in which Max and I would Co-drive again next year, but in most of them he's either co-driving another car or his Miata. There's certainly no bad blood between us, Max is great to co-drive with.

Well, I thought it was going to be the new race car since Max sold the Subaru. I think Max is having seller's remorse though...

Max is having seller's remorse, but my bank account is rejoicing!!

I would totally have Aaron codrive my Miata in 09, but he claims he does not fit in it! Since it will be my only car for a while, that leaves us a little stuck as a codriving team!

With a bit of luck, I will be driving someone else's car for 09 and not my Miata.

If I don't get a ride for 09, then Plan C would have me buying another car around February/March and hoping that Aaron will codrive with me again.

Put it this way, I would rather race with Aaron codriving then ever race on my own again. Now, I never thought I would say that - I'm a pretty independent fellow!

Make it so Aaron.

I just love watching big tall guys get in and out of small cars :)

Especially that really big guy get in and out of his mini at the national events. :o

Easy solution: Aaron, you buy a race seat for the car. Max, you swap it in for the events and put your stock one in between events. It takes about 5 minutes to change them.

As long as you have a healthy tire budget! ;)

Street tires help a lot, I got a whole season of autocross out of my 'Stones... But I've heard stories of getting at few as 16 runs on A6's before the cord! I don't have that kind of scratch.

Not enough camber.

Figured I should throw up the Generic what does a codriver bring message since I should probably get something locked down in the next month. There are people I have been talking to, people I have talked to in the past and some people I just don't have good contact info for that didn't show up at the last event.

With everything on this list how much/many will be dependent on the car and the situation. We'll figure all that out before the season starts.

Lets see, what do i bring:
  • Everyone's favorite, Tires. I will buy sets of tires
  • Gas, I live half a mile from 100 octane pump and across the street from a place that sells 109.
  • Wear Items, (clutch, brakes, etc) yeah I can help with those.
  • I'll go to all the National Events you go to, unless it'll get me fired.
  • DL1, yeah I come with a Data System.
  • Chasecam Setup, yeah I come with a video system.
  • Setup Help, Suspension, etc. I'll not only help you make the car handle better, but i'll try and keep you from messing up a good thing. I own all my own alignment equipment.
  • Fabrication/Electrical, in the garage we have a Tig welder and more, and I happen to live in the same house and one of the best Race car/concept car wiring harness fabricators in the western US.
  • Trip, towing and hotel Costs can be split
Here's what i need from a car owner:
  • Potentially Nationally competitive car.
  • Willing to go to all the National events necessary to be competitive.
  • Going to Nationals
  • Willing to listen to and try out suggestions.
