Novice rules

Little Bro Tadd scored a win in May's Novice class and then was harshly and famously destroyed by the sad realization that Kurt the Nazi Whaler Captain should have won the class. [Okay, I'm not even sure Tadd knows]
But call it a second out of ten in Novice class at his first and only championship.
When I enter him for Sunday is he booted from Novice class forever for so rudely driving pretty darn well???

Under current rules for Novice class, that would be correct.

Dunno, I never ran Novice. Marshall and Christine laughed uproariously when I brought it up early on, haha.
Not sure anyone really cares to protest anyone in Novice class. Rules say what they say.. but as you know.. the rules are what are enforced, not what are written. ;)

I never ran novice.
Ego couldn't take the prospect of not trophying in Novice.

Tadd's got an outside shot at trophying in STS open if they get enough entries and depending on who shows up. That's probably worth the shot and the challenge. And he's got a first trophy regardless from May which was my original reason for encouraging him to run novice in May. STS can be pretty brutal around here. I've seen 10th place drivers on big turnout days that would have a shot winning other local classes.

LOL.
Actually, I decided last month to keep the points in SK2/DS, so he's back to winning first again. I figured the timing/trophy thing would never work itself out, and I've run enough SK2 events now that points will actually matter.

That's the thing about Novice. If you start out in the earlier part of the season in Novice and realize you want to run all year, you might screw yourself out of a season trophy or at least a place in the season results to be proud of.

That's why I like the new proposal. If I could've run all year in a rookie cup (or whatever it's gonna be called), I think I would've stood a good chance to win, or at least trophy. As it was, I got thrown to the SK2 sharks after my second event and haven't come close to trophying. Crappy, uncompetitive car has had a little to do with that though.
BTW, is the new proposal going to be voted on before next year begins, so that crop of rookies can take advantage?
