So I've been perusing the Mitsubishi and Subaru Web sites for the Evo GSR and new WRX, and both cars are available with a front strut tower brace and other performance-related stuff as an accessory. Is this legal in the stock classes?

Only the top of the line EVO (AS/STU/SK1) seems worth it. Hmmmm .... they might have a new one for DS? But the lower end EVO's that we've tried have been "yucky." The new WRX actually has a stiffer suspension and the engine is surprisingly strong ... 265, lots of low end grunt compared to the older WRX's.

If the accessories are factory, they're OK. A few years ago Suby offered a "port installed" wider wheel that wasn't legal.

You mean 135i's with E-Diff. Still don't think that is an overdog. More that Beth is an overdog.

I'd doubt they are legal.

If the strut tower brace is a factory included option then it is stock legal. If it is a dealer installed option then no.

on the other hand the evo's don't even have an option to order the car without the strut brace so it would not be stock legal to remove it.

I thought port-installed was legal, but dealer was not.
