Right off the showroom floor! :P
Sorry...wasn't aware the CAM classes were showroom stock. :)

I was refuting your claim that there were no candidate cars in the "not allowed" listings.
But I won't argue the "ugly" part.

The obvious solution is to take on a co-driver who has a 3-car garage. Hey, we're a pretty big region.

If you don't get a better offer, bring that 370Z over to CSM in group 1 and beat me up. I know I shouldn't be having trouble turning top CS times, but it's not happening yet. :?

In case anyone cares, I saw photographic evidence from SEMA that it's now official. But have no other information.

I guess the big tire companies do pay attention.

TireRack sometimes has impressively quick delivery if in stock in Reno. Maybe call them. I think I once got tires next day, but I expect it was a fluke.

Re: Suggestion to Limit FSAE Worker Rentals

[On our end, I would just recommend announcing at driver's meeting (and now @ reg when they sign up) that it is also the driver's responsibility to make sure their course worker knows what to do. This puts accountability on the driver hiring the worker - I mentioned this to the FSAE rep on Saturday...

Re: Suggestion to Limit FSAE Worker Rentals

Perhaps supervision? I'm not called on much for worker chief up here, but they seem to like how I do it in San Diego. I spend much of each heat on the course with the workers. I typically ride my scooter or drive the set-up truck around the outside of the perimeter and watch from several angles. The...

Re: Where does a battery cut off switch go?

Gotta be a DPST. Isolate the battery and the other pole takes out either the alternator or the ignition. SCCA RR also wants it located in a specific location, but I assume you're not bound by that rule. Buy TWO keys if they're the big red plastic removables. Hide one out on the car somewhere. You'll...

I go out to Lone Pine occasionally. No one has ever said boo, although one time a farmer did ask me not to run into his cows with my Lola. Told him it was a deal.

2-Car Open Trailer

Seeing Toby's ad reminded me I've got this monster parked in the outer 40 I'll probably not need again. It's a twin-ramp open 2-car hauler, 3-axle, significant basement storage. You'll need a serious pickup to pull it, depending on what you put on it. Weighs about 3000. They said it was 15k GVW, but...

Re: 1993 Miata Spring Rates

Competition cars regularly hit bump stops. Spring and anti-roll rates are chosen to minimize, but not eliminate contact because that would be unnecessarily harsh. For your tires, a prepared Miata needs about 700/400 to only occasionally contact the stops. Since your chosen rates are about half that....

Re: 1993 Miata Spring Rates

I'd have to guess that there won't be a good compromise available. With those wheels and tires you're in STS territory, and 700/400 is considered the sweet spot by many in that class. But 700 would be too high for your Sport shocks anyway. You'd need the shock combo Steve Coe suggested. You may want...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

SM is typically 4-seat sedans. Two seaters go to SSM. But your modified sub-frame might not work for that class. If you plan to run CalClub, we have a CST class that's very unrestrictive but requires street tires and a similar CSM class for modified street cars with R-comp tires. PS, you should real...
