2018 Points Card....Apply Now...
With the new 2018 season coming up, its time to remind people to purchase your points card for the coming year....
Just a refresher on how this process works. Between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 you can renew your number and secure it for the next year.
To purchase a points card, go here: http://www.solo2.com/purchasePointsCard.htm.
To see which numbers are available, you can visit here: http://tinyurl.com/zg9ruqf.
On Jan. 1, your number is fair game and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with the exception of numbers in the protected range (1-199). These numbers are assigned at my discretion based on:
a) how much you've competed in the last couple years,
b) whether you are a competitor at national events where not having to have a new number made would be a benefit to you, and
c) MOST IMPORTANTLY, how much you've assisted the region by contributing at events and generally being helpful.
For instance, if you're the one helping clean up after the events, or you're the one volunteering to work the ProSolo challenges, or you're the first one to raise your hand when something is needed, your help will be rewarded. And vice versa.
Also please note that if you have a 1-199 number and haven't competed locally in the last 2 years, barring extenuating circumstances, your number will be made available. In other words, number squatting is no longer allowed.
Thanks,
Mike

I got my first points card.
What's the expected delay between purchase and the new registration showing up in the spreadsheet?

Only Nakata knows. But tell me your number and I can update the permanent number list on Motorsportreg.Danielle Gilbert wrote:I got my first points card.

That list that's linked doesn't show anything above 742 atm. Was think of a high 7xx or 8xx number.

Um, there's something wrong with the list, Anthony. I know for sure a number of people higher than 742 that have 2018 points cards, and it stops there for 2017, too.Anthony Porta wrote:Then your golden, go for it!Justin Erickson wrote:That list that's linked doesn't show anything above 742 atm. Idea:
make the next years (aka 2019 this year's) points card available for sale once there are not enough events left to complete a current year (2018) points card... and throwing in the remainder of the 2018 season? Allow people getting started later in the season (there's a novice school next month, right) to reserve some permanent numbers and potentially get away from tape and printouts.

Actually, buying your first points card during the renewal period (which starts Oct 1), it is good through the following year. Only slight disadvantage is numbers belonging to those that don't renew are not available yet.Shane Donahue wrote:Idea:

Your magnetics don't meet our requirements. But for the right six-pack... (Channeling Brausen for ya.) ;)
