Thanks from Jon and the ALHS Braves

Post by Jonathan Clements »

Thanks so much for helping me raise $214 for my baseball team. If we can come up with another $86, we'll have a 4'x6' sign to hang at the field all year long (instead of an ad in the program guide that fewer people will see).
Thanks especially to No$, who won the competition by raising $62. PSCC was second, with GRA in third and a tie for fourth between CASOC and Team Blew (Wait, CASOC didn't win something?!? ;) Maybe next time!) TCC may have set the record for greatest percentage of members contributing...

all 3 of them?

next time give the announcers the running totals so you can egg us on even more. you should get the $86+ next event, no problem.

Here's the current draft of the banner. (Font size of team was set to contribution level, but that is subject to change. Not the idea itself, but the actual size. If your team should be in a different color, let me know.)

I actually think the team names should all be the same size with the exception of the winner. You also might want to ask if the teams have actual logos, as most do. I can supply the CSCC SOLO, PSCC and CASOC logos in any format the printer wants to ensure quality. I know GRA and Team Blew have logos. I assume this is going to be digital printing.

Yes, I have Paypal. mlclements at charter dot net

Rick, we are trying to raise money for a deserving high school baseball team, here... :gpower: Where's the incentive to contribute more? ;) OTOH, I was hoping you would have and volunteer to send the logos for teams that have them.

How much do you need for the banner on the field?

Just need to know what format the printer needs them in. I work mainly in CorelDRAW, but can convert to any common format. Only wish we had our new digital printer so I could do it all for you. But the economy keeps forcing us to push back delivery :(

In the Mopar world, we take one head off a smog motor 400 B motor and use it as our starter launcher..... You know for 40lbs 60's style gear reduction starters.

DUCK!!!!!!

No Bucks winning is quite appropriate - we have no money, we give it all away. :gpower:

Current totals

128 for CASOC (wow, once you stir the competitive urges...!!!)
84 for PSCC
62 for No$
33 for GRA
17 for Team Blew
11 for TCC
4 for PFM
4 for SCNAX
3 for Morgan + 4
3 for SVTOA
13 people unaffiliated with any team gave money, too

So, we are at $362, which is one banner on the field ($300) + one quarter page ad ($45) in the official program. (A half page ad is $75, so we're almost at that.)

Just so you can see how the look, here's one from last year (Paul's logo was in black and white and the artwork Nancy sent me from the National Office was also in black and white, but the banner is normally full color).

Very cool. Thanks SO much.

I am not sure who is printing the banners this year, but should be able to find out what format they need after school starts back up. (Last year's printer's son is no longer on the team :( .)

Once the season starts in March, I will post pictures of the banner...

AHHHHGH!

At first I thought the Whitehead thing was an example. Then I realized it was real.

The HORROR!

C'mon PSCC, we can crush those CASOC wusses.

This coming weekend looks to be chilly again, so unless someone objects, Jon will be back with coffee and hot chocolate. And cookies or cinnamon rolls.
