Post by Vincent Chang »

Anyone ever here of WORKS Suspension. I believe they are up north.

If so, how is the quality of their work?

I don't think anyone here runs it. What are your goals and price range - we can probably give you some better recommendations.

Hear of? Yes.
The sticker is on the side of the car, but that car is an Evo, not a Subaru.

Here's their web site:

http://www.worksevo.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It appears they are in Cypress (just north of Huntington/Seal Beach)....and are about to campaign an EVO (for/with Mitsubishi North America) in the Speed World Challenge series. I see it mentions Ohlin shocks on that car.

The suspension they are selling for Subies are the Works/Ohlins.......Ohlins it is.

I'd say they are about all things Mitsu/Evo.

It's like selling your soul to the devil for a Subaru person! I was rather impressed with Richard's car last weekend though

Vincent:

Which Suby?

The best value is probably Koni inserts ... around $2k. Our very fast Greg Peng in his WRX is using them, as well as SK1 winning Pete Loney with his new '08 STI. Max is using the excellent ZZYZX on his National ProSolo Championship winning STI. Jeff Barco had $4.5K plus triple adjustable custom Koni's on his National Championship winning STX WRX. Those might be for sale in the near future.

At a near by park with his two lovely little daughters ... when he's not working game shows, etc. controlling their interactive lighting. I saw him bumping and bopping down the street a few days ago in his tightly sprung WRX. So sad to see it with it's National's decals on the streets of Hollywood instead of Ca Spdwy. Sounds like he's going to de-mod it and sell it. When he eventually comes back ... what, in 20+ plus years after his girls get out of school (I hope I'm wrong!) ... he said he would be in a Stock Class car that doesn't require all of the wrenching his STX winner required. Gone are the dreams of taking his WRX to ESP and then Prepared. But it sounds like he's happy with his girls and work. :king:

Spending time with his family and concentrating on his job.

I think he is the sort of person that cannot do things half heartedly - so he cannot do "a bit" of AX. It's all or nothing. He did the "all", and it nearly cost him his marriage, so now he is concentrating on that, his kids and his job.

Probably a better choice. :D

Subbie, EVO... when you're driving a S2k they all look the same. J/k! :P

Works is supposedly going to offer some suspension stuff on the Smart car. I'm looking to improve the suspension on it before I have to buy barf bags for my passengers.
