Palero Wang motorcycle accident
From posts overnight on FB, it sounds like Mike Palero and Patty Wang got hit on their bikes last night by some doof making a left turn. Sounds like they are at Huntington waiting on tests. Mike is still posting so at least the internet-interface part of his brain (if not his spelling center) appear...

Where can I find out more about the class changes. I can't find anything that looks like 2012 solo rules on solo2.com or scca.com.Rick Brown wrote:Note that there a few changes to the run order pending due to 2012 class changes. ST is now STC and there are two new classes, STF and SSP.

Parts are cheap. Decent tires are cheap. Fully adjustable suspension. More "speed maintenance" less "point and shoot".

I think what we've learned is that the louder the car is, the faster Mako drives. We need to get him one of those vroom vroom things that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Interesting. Perhaps a bit long in the tooth, but that's the right price-point. Does the roof mostly hold water? I'll check with my "client" and see if she demands to have an automatic.

For high speed, large radius turns like ours hmmm ... I though our AX corners were tight and low speed for the most part Compared to road course, yes. But in this context, what matters is the turn radius relative to the wheelbase of the car. "Small radius" turns here would be something th...

Re: Good Explanation on Why Toe-Out
Hmmmm... I was under the impression that an approximation to Ackerman steering had been implemented on cars (and buggies) by clever placement of tie rod ends since the early 1800's. For high speed, large radius turns like ours, Ackerman effects are small and the weight transfer (and resulting change...

Thanks mucho for the advice folks. I'm working on the car and we've got the paperwork underway. My GF fenderbent her 97 escort. It has minor but fixable front damage. She was still carrying full comp on it and the est was $3500 to repair so the ins co declared it totalled. They paid her $2500 or so and for $300 let us keep the wreck. What's the "skinny" on the salvage title. Do we ne...
