Re: SAD, SAD NEWS

I just saw this this morning, I'm a little in shock. As odd/scary as it seems, she was very much a mother figure to me. She will be sorely missed.

Re: 2009 FSAE California - Volunteers Needed!

I've been to the last three years. It's a great time and a great way to give back to our sport. Unfortunately, this year I won't be able to attend as I have classes on Saturdays now.

Toyo RA-1's for a great price!

I ordered a set of new wheels and tires for my car, then promptly ran out of money. The guy at Wheel Wharehouse is calling me to get these things out of his shop. Anyone interrested in a set of these for $600? Can ya help a brother out?

Re: When 2 Replace the CAT

Our '99 Miata has 95K on it. Is there a "standard" when to replace the Cat? Well, the Feds have demanded since 1996 that a catalytic converter be warranted for 8yrs, 80k miles. Also with the advent of OBDII, you will know about anything amiss with the cat long before it becomes more of a ...

Re: Warranty Question

Got a question for those in the stock classes: have any of you with newer cars had any problems with dealers not honoring your warranty after making the allowed stock class mods. I think the DA shocks and the cat-back exhaust are the most likely to cause issues. Also, for you lawyer types (or those...

Re: Condolences, Renee.

I got the call about 9:00 last night from my mistress herself. That feeling of your gut hitting your privates, the cold sweat, and the "it CAN'T be true" all hit at once. The words just aren't there. It was through both the Angel's warmth and acceptance that I have been given the courage t...

Re: Who wants to do a garage co-op in the O.C.?

Here in Orange, there are a lot of car shops so the city is probably pretty easy going about that. We're located in a new-ish industrial park that has a couple units open I believe. The issue is that all cars would have to be parked inside each night. I'd get on board with something like this.

In my experience, wheel offset doesn't realy make a difference until you are playing with over 15mm either way.

Re: Three piece wheel mounting question

The no-touch is the best bet. It's the ones where guys are trying to use the spoons that cause the most failures. Depending on how thin the rim halves are, the clamping force may be enough to bend it though.

Miscellaneous Stuff For Sale

Many of you know my eclectic tastes in car stuff and I've gathered quite a bit of "stuff" lying around: VW A1 Quaiffe quick-ratio steering rack, one pair of steering knuckles, bare: Doug will probably call dibs on the rack One MegasquirtII ECU with harness: it's the v3 board with the teste...
