Geeks Save the Day

Post by Rick Brown »

Major thanks to the elite CSCC SOLO IT Team for rescuing me from the clutches of Windows 8 running on all our new Timing/Registration computers. While I spend most of Saturday getting software installed and what I thought was the necessary networking set up so we would be ready to go Sunday morning, when we actually started to use them, our software wasn't really communicating properly between the computers. Enter Marshall Grice, Adam Tarnoff and Jeff Stuart to get everything working including one of the older computers to provide the announcer info.

Job well done, Gentlemen!

I take some slight solace in that it took all 3 of them to figure it all out. ;)

Yea geek squad.

I was there at the computer for my work assignement and it defeintly didn't sound good at 8:50am.

Note the re-run problems we did have starting the morning group had nothing to do with the new hardware.
