July 11 & 12 Events Are Now Open for Registration!

Post by George Schilling »

Register early for the practice event as it will sell out. A priority system is in place, but that is only good until the entry list is posted two weeks prior to the event. For more information and to register for both the practice and Autocross Sunday #8, click here.

FYI, the event is full with an ever expanding wait list. If for some reason you cannot attend, please cancel ASAP to allow someone from the wait list to attend. This will also prevent you from being charged for the event should you not cancel in a timely manner. Thanks everyone.

Hi gang.

Please note the earlier start time for the practice on Saturday is 8:30 to accommodate our largest practice ever. Autocross Sunday is business as usual.

Also, I still have an opening for a course worker to work the junior kart course at the end of the day. This will fulfill you work assignment for the day and will be roughly half that of the normal work assignment. I will also make exceptions for a late 10:30 am check-in for the junior volunteers making your time commitment to the practice shorter as well. PM or email your request for this position.

Maybe I am looking at the wrong place, but I still don't see any information on Sunday's run order. I have friends who would like to come so I'd like to be able to tell them whether B-Street is running in the morning or in the afternoon.
Also, why are the event registration links so difficult to find? The front page of the site has a very nice calendar and the events are listed there. But when I click on the "more information" link for an event, the only information I see is when and where the event is but there is no registration link. Unless someone starts a thread on Forums->Events I really wouldn't know how to register. I assume it would be even more confusing for first-timers who wouldn't necessarily know that this information is posted in the forums.

http://www.solo2.motorsportreg.com is always the proper link to all currently active events. Been the same for years now. There is also a link labeled Event Registration right at the top on solo2.com (which you can get to by clicking on the logo at the upper left in the forums). I haven't had time to do the run order yet, but 99% of the time you just rotate up one slot from the previous event. BS ran 4th last event so you run 5th this time.

It's one of three links in a orange box on the right hand side of the page.

Here is the run order. There will likely be changes once reg closes on Friday since there are a couple of very out of balance groups. You will not be moved across the lunch break. If you are planning on coming and haven't registered yet, please do so ASAP. It really helps us with planning.

Got it, thanks Leonard. Every time I looked, I was fixating on the calendar and always thought that clicking some more on it will get me to the registration link. :)

I went ahead and moved it to the left side this morning - people seemed to keep missing it on the right.

The Heat is ON Autocross Practice on Saturday will be our biggest practice event ever! There is a wait list, so if you need to cancel, please do so ASAP to allow someone else to take your place. Thanks to all for your participation!

Please note the change in time for tech and registration and first car out for the practice. Tech will be open from 6:30- 8:15. First car is 8:30am

Junior Course Workers
I have openings for two workers willing to work course for one hour when the juniors are run at the end of the event from 5:40-6:40. This will fulfill your work assignment for the day. This work assignment amounts to one half the time of a standard work assignment and can be done while riding a bicycle or motorized pit bike. I will also make provisions for a late 10:15 arrival for those volunteers which will reduce you overall time commitment for the day by approximately 3 hours. Shorter day, shorter work assignment, what's not to like? Please let me know ASAP if you would like to be considered.

Schedule
6:30 - Tech/Registration Opens
7:55 - Course closes for walking
8:05 - Mandatory Drivers Safety Meeting
8:15 - First group workers check-in; Tech/Registration closes; Cars to grid
8:30 - First car out
Please note: If you have not checked in by 8:15, your spot will be given away to a walk-up. If you are running late, you can request a late check-in by calling me @562-884-9850.
