Second Timer, question about guests

Hey Folks,

this will be my second time at an autox event (I attended a practice back in May) but first time attending a Sunday Championship.

I have a question about bringing guests to the event. My 13 year old nephew is into motor sports and I wanted to know if I had to get a waiver signed by a parent for him to attend. I read that novices can have passengers, would he be able to ride with me as well?

Edit: I looked on the first page of the registration page and under "The Details" for Sunday it says "persons aged 12 and older may ride as passengers..." and on the next page under "Special rules" it says "If the minor is a spectator and not participating in the event [a waiver is required and], only 1 parent's signature is required." so I guess that answers my questions. I will leave this here in case anyone else is wondering

I believe you can bring your nephew as long as you sign some sort of waiver. I'll defer to other members more familiar with the registration process to fill you in.

First of all, passengers (over 12) are welcome any time, even on your competition runs. For adult passengers, a passenger wristband (sign our passenger book and get a wrist band) is all that is required. For a minor (12-18) to ride in a car, you'll need to have a minor waiver completed and signed by both parents. The notation you cited is for the minor to be a "spectator" (i.e. onsite, but not in the cars) you only need one parent's signature. In addition, you'll need a SCCA member to witness the signing or have the document notarized. If both parents are coming to the event, no problem, just have them sign it at the gate. If not, you'll need it notarized or witnessed by an SCCA member known to the club (you may be able to reach out here and meet up with someone if you need a witness). Additional Note: You must have this document printed in color (not black and white laser, etc.) and completely filled out. The waiver is good for all events in the calendar year. The gate folks will keep the document on file for the year, but keep a photocopy (or take a picture of the waiver on your phone) to make it easier for the gate folks at future events.

In order for your nephew to be able to ride in a car, you would need to get both of his parents to sign:

Thanks for the responses, I know that you mentioned that both parents have to sign but in this case only one parent has full custody of the kids and the other parent is not around. Is there any additional forms that we would need to show?
