Linked In

Post by Larry Andrews »

Okay, is it just me or is this website bringing every freak of nature that ever existed out of the woodwork so they can look for recommendations?

In the last week, I've had two FTd ex-bosses who were the sole reason I left otherwise good positions not only ask me to join their network, but also asked for recommendations. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Why can't worthless alkies just leave me alone?

Did the last eight years cause America to give itself a lobotomy or something? :!:

BTW - that's not to drag anybody here through the mud...I don't remember ever working for a solo racer.

it's the new myspace/facebook..

at least it feels like it to me.

if i want a professional connection, i probably already have it, and don't need a website for it. If i need to reach through the web to pull out a recommendation, it's probably not going to be all that glowing of one anyways.

I don't get it, though i don't get myspace nor facebook either.

I've found it to be somewhat useful.

So, Larry, Vertical Circuits?

Somethings fishy lately with linked in lately.

I had a profile 50% filled out about 4 months ago. Then recently two odd things I noticed.

1. I received a couple of "Join my Network" request from former colleauges. I clicked them but they are now invalid ?? Might be related to my theory below.

2. My Profile is now trimmed back to just my recent job and my picture is gone and more......

Did they upgrade/downgrade the free version of their site?? That's my theory.

They re-organized the page layout, but all my stuff is still there.
