I have a line on a stock-sized set of wheels for my car, but the offset is slightly too wide. So...
Anyone know a machine shop that can take 2mm off a set of wheels to make them legal for a stock offset? And possibly how much?
Or is 2mm too much to take off and still be safe?
TIA

Is that 2mm over the 6mm provided in the stock rules?Tyson Newman wrote:I have a line on a stock-sized set of wheels for my car, but the offset is slightly too wide. So...

No. It's 2mm to get it narrower and WITHIN the 6mm stock offset.Richard Jung wrote:Is that 2mm over the 6mm provided in the stock rules?Tyson Newman wrote:I have a line on a stock-sized set of wheels for my car, but the offset is slightly too wide. So...

If you are talking about aluminum wheels, if they are straight, and if they are dismounted, I should be able to remove the 2mm, or what ever you think, at my shop. I'm in Costa Mesa. Will need to look at what you have to see what the options are. Send me some pix of the backside.

Actually, you only need to remove 1.65mm (offset within 1/4", or 6.35mm).
Just out of curiosity, what is the donor car?
