Close to 70 cars ... mainly Porsche's ... bunch of GT-3's, Turbo, GT-2 ... supposedly a real 959 ... track cars ... being driven with gusto through some beautiful vacant back country roads. Group lunch afterwards in Montrose. Only bummer ... Kathy left holding the bag after someone seemingly didn't pay their share. We passed the hat ...
The CSCC contingency ... Will, back and right.

going to have to sacrifice next year to wake up on time for this action
Looks like fun, but after a very busy week, sleep felt awfully good!
Sorry to hear about Kathy left holding the bag for the check.

We were all still in the parking lost, so we took up a collection. Seems to always happen when you don't do separate checks. It was such a beautiful day, drive, time together. Well worth it.

Anyone see the Stealth Bomber flying around? Never seen that before.
Maybe it was a Rose bowl thing.
I was impressed with the 1970's Porsche in front of me. I really had to push my car to keep up.
Then I followed him all the way to his house thinking he was going back to the group

Several years ago they did a B2 flyover. A few of us working the desk on NY Day went up on the roof of the 10-story building to watch. Amazing to see it in flight.

It freaked me out at first. Then I realized what it was.

Isn't the point not to see it?

When I first moved out in 2005, they did a southbound fly over dodger's stadium, then a 90* banking turn right in front of our downtown building headed towards santa monica bay. It was pretty awesome looking out the window at the bottom of that plane.

KJ, is that your wife and daughter?
Yep. Wife = Stacey, Daughter = Kencey.
(Kencey, pronounced 'Ken-C', a combination of our names - Ken(neth/Sta)cey. It was Stacey's idea and it turned out pretty interesting. Always funny listening to other parents try that with their names when we tell them.)

Somehow I don't think I'd have the heart to name my kid Bolo--Bo/[Lo]is. Or Bois.

It was a flyover of the Rose Parade. 20th anniversary of the plane. KTLA did a little thing on it, including lots of exterior, a little interior and a flight in the simulator (where pilots get most of their training and practice since it's so expensive to fly). The reporter did a pretty good job on take off and flight and even touchdown, but then went off the runway and crashed. Aside from engines, and a very small cockpit, the rest of the plane is either bombs or fuel.
Since light is faster than sound...many people look bright until they speak...
I think the new Popular Science (Mechanics?) magazine has (conjecture) pictures of the new stealth bomber ... a very popular subject with them it seems.
We got up at 5:15 to get to TRE Porsche Motorsports in Van Nuys @ 7am for the Run. I don't know if it was only the long wait for the coffee to brew ... BUT the Run didn't leave until 9:26 ... we got to Montrose around 12:30 PM ... courtesty of Photo EXIF data.
I think the OC Run didn't even meet up until 9 am.
This accelerate-in-spurts but otherwise TRUNDLE'ing GT-3 held us up. Luckily even our Miata was able to eventually squirt by it. I tried not to crowd him ... but did want to apologize to him afterwards for possibly hounding him ... but I didn't see him at the finish.
End to an otherwise nice day for most of us ... John P helps Kathy and Doug change out the rear flat ... which on the S2000 means putting a front on the rear and putting the mini-spare in front. We couldn't find any evidence of a hole, nail, tear in the flat? Valve was also tight.
... well it did get worse for Kathy after we left her to check out Chad's new Exige while she tried to pay the restaurant bill. I't's NOT true that Doug said that she's good at washing dishes!
