I'm home..........a little sore but but happy to be here.

Thanks to everyone for the emails, phone call and messages. It sure makes the recovery process easier. I can't wait to test drive the new hip on a course walk. And I can't wait to see the improvement in Tom. As bad as I looked, he always made me hurt watching him. See you all soon.

I wanted to give everyone an update on my progress. As you know, I had new left hip installed on Wednesday. This morning, Monday, I ditched the crutches and walked to the bathroom solo. Still quite a bit of pain, but it's getting better and better each day. While I'm not ready to get rid of the crutches yet, I am very encouraged by what I've seen so far.
The doctor is telling me not to do anything stupid for at least 30 days, but I must admit I'm getting a little stir crazy. Any suggestions?

Best advice I've got is to do something you enjoy that's as strenuous as you can tolerate. The more you move, the better the recovery. Swimming was the best for me, but it's not always possible. Go down to the beach somewhere with a sidewalk and enjoy the scenery on a quiet weekday. Go have lunch at the Spitfire Grill. Not too often you can do that when you're self-employed.

This time is for you. Enjoy it.

The equipment has been tested and is fully operational post-op. :P However my wholehearted participation is still somewhat limited.

Nice thought Larry. I know just the place in Naples overlooking the ocean. Me thinks I'll have lunch there tomorrow.
