Give me a break! Who freaking cares. The guy won 8 gold medals. He takes great care of his body. He obviously is not a regular pot smoker. And he's still just a kid...I didn't graduate from college until I was 24, and I did much worse than that. If he has regular run-ins that demonstrate a pattern of behavior, then by all means let him have it with both barrels. But I guess that's the nature of setting yourself up as a media darling...they're looking for the slightest thing to knock you down.

I don't know how you get that dumb.

He doesn't make bazillions playing for a team that doesn't care about an arrest record.

He makes money off endorsements as the world's greatest athlete and all-American boy.

He survived without tarnish a DUI conviction at 19. He had his wake-up call. Handlers were freaking out warning him to lower the profile of his obnoxious party train.

No, he's the greatest athlete in the world he'll do whatever he wants and then some. That's fine. But don't expect the sponsors to write the checks anymore. I hope he is careful with the millions he has gotten so far. I predict bankruptcy in the next five years.

I don't care, but the USOC will. About 20 years ago, they added all illegal drugs to the banned list along with the usual performance enhancing substances.

The USOC has no business caring about anything that isn't a performance enhancement, they aren't the morality police.

And personally I could care less if he's a stoner as long as he doesn't DUI.

But his only value is in endorsements. Gonzo.

They wanted to be on the "just say no" bandwagon.

I totally don't care what he does, its just so stupid for somebody who earns his money really only through endorsements with the blue chip needs an All-American hero figure type companies. He's obviously, an idiot. Unless somehow he thinks he's going to go from swimming to acting or wrestling??? Or governating?

Down economy + even slightly negative press = end of contract.
