if it were a normal practice.... then being number 10-13 you'll probably get in. Seeing as this is one of the last practices before the National Tour. I highly doubt you will get in.

No need to doubt so heavily. Jamie encourage your father to stay optimistic (no guarantees) and check the updated wait list. Count the actual entries ahead of you, not the number. As of 5:11 PM, you and the family are now 9-12.

I will agree it is a bit strange that so many people are pulling out, this close to the Tour, but stranger things have happened. Good Luck!![Thumbup ](./images/smilies/icon_thumbup.gif)

and btw THANK YOU!
I was not going to try but I will see you all tomorrow. Even if I don't race I would love for my father and David R (friend from church) to race. If they get in and I don't I will stick around all day. Expect me to be bumpin rides

Well, my brother (who drives an Rx-8) decides to "top his car off" with 2 quarts of oil before the event. His car was smoking so bad I was worried someone would call the fire department. It took about 30min to an hour to figure out what happened. THANK GOD my mechanic, Cam Worth of Pettit racing was in the shop that day. I described everything I could to him over the phone and he deducted it was an oil issue.
![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
My dad has never gone to an autox before and he tried to skimp out on his work shift and just leave.
![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
Some more stuff too but I aint going to complain. I am just not going to babysit anymore autox events. I shouldn't bring people who can't (or wont try to) fix their own problems (and rely on me to do it for them) meh

On the side note my boyfriend and I took the MR2 to the Sunday after Championships. They wouldn't let us drive fun runs because we didn't compete that day so we got Leonard to drive our car and give us rides. I had a blast! I was smiling ear to ear for the rest of the day. It totally made up for Saturday. Thanks Leonard
![Big Grin :D](./images/smilies/4.gif)
Here is the MR2 by the way

Re: San Deigo Practice March 7th
Did adding that much extra oil cause elevated oil pressure and blown "seals?" What type of car was it?
Some Suby racers like to add a bit more oil, but nothing like a quart or TWO ?! That's crazy!![Surprised :o](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
Let us know when they figure out where the oil was coming out of.

My brother just way overfilled his Rx-8. I know plenty well blown rotary engines, how they smell, act etcMako Koiwai wrote:Did adding that much extra oil cause elevated oil pressure and blown "seals?" What type of car was it?

After my boyfriend jacked up the car (my brother apparently did not know how) *facepalm* oil was drained to a normal level and the smoke went away.
On the side note, there was a gentleman there who used to race rotarys who was of some help, thank you! I did not get your name. Also, for all those other people who were "trying" to give me advise (I actually think you were just trying to impress me) please, please keep your mouth shut if you have no idea what you are talking about. I don't want to be a jerk but no, my head gaskets arent blown, I do not have a bad bearing and there is no water in the engine. I was nice and humored you but seriously, now I think you are all idiots
![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
At least Jake learned that you do not top your car off with 2 quarts. lol Hopefully he learned how to jack up his car too. If not I will make sure he knows by the next event.
I also need new tires. My Azenis are bald bald bald! I am thinking those Dunlop Star Spec tires. Whatcha think?

i'd like to hear the explanation of how higher oil level increases oil pressure...Mako Koiwai wrote:Did adding that much extra oil cause elevated oil pressure and blown "seals?" What type of car was it?

if you over fill the oil it comes out of the crankcase vents, which on a production car with a PCV system means the extra oil goes into the intake and burns.

Yeah, you really have to keep an eye on those rotary engine head gaskets. Maybe you had a problem with your muffler bearings to... :unimpressed:Jamie Lessie wrote:I don't want to be a jerk but no, my head gaskets arent blown...

Muffler bearings? hehe that is a new one. Did someone actually say that to you or is it an inside joke?Mike Simanyi wrote:Yeah, you really have to keep an eye on those rotary engine head gaskets. I have gotten all kinds of funny "diagnosis" from random people.
One person warned me that rodknock will eventually lead to more problems, possibly a blown engine. What they heard was my hoodpin vibrating against my hood. It does so because my hoodpin clip broke
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Another one was from another rx-7 owner. I have a loose screw in my firewall that will sometimes rattle. He told me that it is my valves making noise. :unimpressed:
I remember at one of the auto technology classes they offer at school I needed to borrow a tool from the class and while I was there some guy (who was enrolled in the class) asked if my V6 was turbocharged. I wish I had a camera because the look he gave me when I told him I had no pistons was priceless. Luckily I had one of those rotary engine pamphlets from the Mazda dealership to give him. I was told by another class member that in the beginning of the semester they go over rotary engines. I guess he ditched those days.
![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
I wish I would have written them down. People say all kinds of funny things.
So how bout them muffler bearings?

I like the cross-drilled brake lines. First think I'm going to add when I ditch stock class: http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_pa ... ducts_id=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
