Willow Springs Raceway - Convertible Roll Bar rule

Post by Q V »

Is the 'helmet 2" below the roll bar' rule something new for 2009, or has that always been there? My car has no problem, but my friend w/ his s2000 isn't clearing the roll bar by that much.

I'm wondering what your experiences were w/ any of the groups hosting/raceway itself in regards to this rule. Just a legal thing in case anything happens, or are they really enforcing this?

Thanks!
QV

p.s. the new "convertible top must be up" rule sucks! Though I probably should run w/ my top up, but I feel so much more confined like that.

I never knew the rule to be that specific. WSIR has required some type of rollover protection for convertible vehicles for years and most factory roll bars are OK.

I've run into it in a lot of organizations in the "If you have a roll bar/cage" section of the rules. Most cars it would be a tall order for me. ;)
