WTB: Miata tires
The MR2 needs some tires for autocross. Same size as Miata tires.
preferably 215/45/16
I would be interested in other similar sizes as well. I missed out on the closeout prices on those Bridgestones ($59 each for 215(something)16's) ugh
If you have some wheels (5-lug) with partly used tires on them I would be like to work with you on using the tires on the wheels and then returning the wheels once the tires are spent (It costs soooooo much to mount and balance these days) I have a set of nice 5-lug miata wheels I can use as trade/collateral etc.

What year is your MR-2? Different generations of MR-2's and Miatas use either 4 or 5-lug wheels, so it would help folks to know exactly what you're looking for.

Still a bit on the expensive side. Again, about $400 for the set is my limit (or a bit more on a set of borrowed rims)Stephen Yeoh wrote:Jamie,
Look for the Bridgestone offer that was posted on our forums here:

I wish Dunlop were still giving $50 rebates on their star specs

The Kumho Ecsta XS is a great tire! Lasts long and is very competitive. I use the 205/50/15 on my 89 Civic ST car and I love the tire, best value for the money in my opinion.

That makes me feel good. They are $99 in the size I need. I would like to get the Dunlop Z1's but they would be an extra $100 for the set. Think cheap! hahaKyle Williams wrote:The Kumho Ecsta XS is a great tire! Lasts long and is very competitive. Any other opinions on that tire or other cheap tires? (under $100 for a 205-215/40-50/16)

Is it worth the extra $100 (for a cheap working college student) to get the dunlop Z1's?Mako Koiwai wrote:Way past it's prime ... but OK for learning on.
I may just do that. Technically it is only another $50 because of the rebate.
Man, Nathan is already beating me enough in the MR2. Dunlop Z1's are just what he needs!

Re: WTB: Miata tires
I don't think you would go wrong with either the Kumho XS or the Dunlops. The RS-2 was more of a competitor for the ol' Falken RT615s and has been around for a while. The XS and the Z1 Star Specs are both current tires.Jamie Lessie wrote:Is it worth the extra $100 (for a cheap working college student) to get the dunlop Z1's?Mako Koiwai wrote:Way past it's prime ... but OK for learning on.
