Kyle,

How come not more people are running the XS if it's so good? It's somehow managed to stay relatively unknown.

best marketing scheme you could possibly have in our class. :gpower:

I think because there are so many tires now, that people are intrigued by whats coming out next. Also people tend to follow the leader as was the case with Toyo and Bridgestone.... more so because of Contingency as well.

Wasn't a not so well (relatively, considering PAX'ed results and Annie telling Max he was a wimp for not being on the Rev Limiter as much as she was :gpower: ) driven STU car the Super Challenge ProSolo winner ... with Dunlops. Those Tires MUST have made the difference! :computer:

My car is obviously much bigger/heavier than most others, and my old tires were not optimal for autocross, though they weren't horrible (BFG KDW2s), but I'e gained at least a second since I've started running them. If any of the others are better than that, I'd love to compare. I'm kinda surprised that they came in a distant 5th, though I suppose a tire is going to work completely differently on any given application. They work really well on my car.
On my heavier car the Stars Specs were much faster than the Falken 615 and the Bridgestone RE01Rs.

Also check out tirerack's test, where they tested the top ST tires on a heavy BMW e46, and the Stars Specs can out on top.

Plus Max and Annie did ok on Dunlops last weekend.
The Dunlops are awesome, long lasting, great grip, cheap, very easy to find the limit.

ordered my XS. will be interesting to see how they perform against mako's re-11s since out NBs are similarly prepped. My decision was based off of the XS 180 treadwear vs the re-11 140 since i will be competing in the miata challenge at the end of the month and to stay in street class i cound't go any lower.

Cool ... will you have them this weekend? I'm trying to have Sonny put into a new Pro Class that I'm working on having created! ;)

I think Sonny chased Jason and Ken out of SST ... they rather duke it out with that CSP guy Schenker (at least this Sunday), who usually comes in 2nd anyway. (Just kidding Bill!)

Jeff: What size Kumho's did you get?

i ordered the 205/50/15 and will hopefully be mounted and balanced by friday. It'll be interesting to see what times come from the two tires for our own tire testing :P. are you getting them shaved?

The Hankook RS-3 in a 225-45-15 is now available from Tirerack. $124

Some of the Yoko AD08 are also available. The 205-50-15 Pricing is $121. More than the other top tires but not by much.

Testing just got phenomenally expensive.

Shaved? Of course ... Not! No Worries ...

Perhaps we can do fun runs and have Sonny run both cars for a decent comparison ...
