Nationals car transporter to Lincoln

Post by George Schilling »

It's getting to be that time again. Let's start a list to see if we have enough people for a transport. Last year it was $1,100 per car round trip. Should be about the same this year, maybe less. Gas was pretty high around this time last year.

As of 8/16/09, two spots are available.

1. Derek Punch
2. Mihai Z.
3. Rick J
4. Jason F.
5. Brian Peters – AZ
6. Doug Rowse
7. Michael H.
8. Jeff Wong
9. ---
10. ---

Hey George,

Good to see you starting a little earlier this year.

I can handle booking the transporters again this year if you like, especially if you take on the recruiting and correspondence!

Add Derek Punch's car and mine to the list please.

Yeah, I wanted to start firming up plans so that I can buy airfare. I started watching it about 2 weeks ago. Initially the airfare was $246 RT. I wanted to book then thinking the price couldn't go much lower but I hesitated not knowing whether I'd have to trailer or not. Since then, it's taken a $70 pp jump. As long as I know we can get a transport together, I can get our tickets when it goes back down.

I don't mind helping. You're offer to book it sounds good Rick. Thanks for chiming in.

Wahoo! Nationals is sneaking up quickly! I for one am extremely stoked to be able to throw the car on the transporter and arrive to Lincoln fresh and ready to go! So which one of our sharp photographers plan to follow the transporter to catalog the cars' cross country adventures? Seems like this transporter is stacking up to be a pretty sharp looking one.

Our transporter does tend to bring back a lot of National Championships. Someone might wanna tell Jay over in AZ that his spot in the transporter is going to get taken soon if he doesn't speak up.

It hasn't been arranged yet, but it will be there for the Pro Finale.

I think it was the day before the finale last year, I got to drive a bunch of the cars as we got them off the transporter. Turns out I fit great in the All-Star car ;)

I agree. I need to make plans and thus far I have not decided on airplanes or driving. I also have another transporter option that I need to decide on soon. I will be out of town after Tuesday and not back until July 28th

It's too early to book the transport, but as soon as the CASOC event is over, I can dedicate more time to this. We'll start collecting $500 deposits soon so we know who's serious and how large a carrier to book.
