Post by Kristoffer Gjevre »

Low fuel or what not, this is impressive.

Will it finally be Buttons year?

Pre-season testing doesn't mean much.

just wanted to bump this with the success of brawn racing.

i certainly wasn't a believer at first, but the combo of brawn + button sure seems to have proven themselves to be a winning formula.

i do think that the allowance of the super diffuser had a lot to do with this.

with the strict rules about testing, all the teams who followed what they believed to be the rules (people who specifically asked and were told not to) have had to play catchup the entire time. meanwhile, it's not as if brawn is stopping to wait for the others to catch up.

i think this point is actually contrary to F1's intention of reducing the cost of racing. it's plainly evident that in this game of catchup, the team with the biggest budget will have the best chance of catching up (ref: ferrari).

I was going to rant about Max and FIA and how badly the diffuser thing was handled and how on one hand they want the teams to cut costs and on the other hand they were going green with the KERS...

Actually, that was more of a statement of what other are saying.
To me, if it is one thing F1 is these days, it is not boring, with Max/FIA and FOTA fighiting it out off the track and Button and Vettel fighting it out on the track, and Rubens getting all grumpy, and Hamilton finding out how tough it is as the opposite end of the grid... :D
I say, good for Button, he was pretty much written off, and look at him now!!!

just goes to show how much of the on track performance is from the drivers and how much is from the designers.

That's pretty much what Ham says in his latest interview, Good for button, and it's fun racing in the middle, haha:

Except Ferrari is EXPECTED be front-runners. And they're NOT! That's the beauty of this season.

good save there Gio. admitting that BMW sucks is certainly a tactic I'm sure Bill wasn't prepared for.

Domenicali says no automatic entry for Ferrari

A FOTA meeting took place today in London, attended on behalf of Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro by Stefano Domenicali. He was asked about rumours that Ferrari would be given an automatic entry in the 2010 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. He responded as follows:

"Ferrari’s position has not changed. Back on May 29, we put in a conditional entry with the other teams that make up FOTA. Along with this entry, we put forward to the FIA a package of proposals which included among other elements, a significant reduction in costs. As always, we will do all we can to find a solution that is acceptable to all parties. If this is not possible, then the FIA will not be able to include Ferrari in the list of teams entered for the 2010 FIA Formula 1 World Championship."

Even Dr. Mario Thiessen admitted. So who am I to argue with the great Doctor. Whereas Ferrari, they'll tell you the sky is blue, even though it's raining cats & dogs, and funnel clouds are all over the place, with lightning in the background. There's delusions of granduer for ya! But then again that's the machievallian way of Ferrari
