FSAE Saturday Endurance

Post by Ian Stewart »

Hello all,

If your signed up for Saturday, it looks like have enough volunteers to make it a fun and successful event!!

If you have already volunteered, your in for a GREAT TIME!! If you're still interested in being a part of Friday or Saturday we still have some room, just make sure that you email Karen Stewart at FormulaSAEWest@gmail.com so we can get you on the list.

Please do not just show up at the track without registering through Karen as you may not be able to get in at all...

OK for the saturday endurance,

6:30-700 am Volunteer registration in G3

Enter the speedway as normal for an autoX
Bear to the right and go through the tunnel to the inside of the speedway
Take your first right and park in the lot on the right side of the street
Grab ALL your gear and walk to G3 (garage closest to where you parked)
Sign in, get your credentials and walk or catch a ride out to the track
Check in with Cristine and she will point you where to go...

7:15 SHARP Volunteers Safety Briefing
7:15-7:45 Course Walk for the competitors
8:00 Start of Endurance
11:00 Lunch Break (food provided by SAE)
12:00 Endurance Restart
3:00 End of Endurance (this is approximate)

Please post any questions you may have.

Thanks again for volunteering, see you on the track!!

And one more reminder, this was sent out in a an email to the volunteers around the end of may (May 30th):

If you will be working any of the dynamic events, you must wear long pants, closed-toe shoes and a hat. Shirts will be given only to new volunteers, so if you have participated in previous years, please wear one of your Formula SAE shirts.

During the Competition, please remember to wear sun block, stay covered up, stay hydrated, and, most importantly, have fun.

Slight change...

From what I understand, we are getting white baseball caps instead of shirts.

I've seen the hat, tried one on actually...

it's nice and comfy!! :D

I volunteered for Friday and Saturday. To be clear I should wear my shirt from last year (tan polo FSAE volunteer) and will be getting a baseball cap, correct? Are we expected to wear the cap as well? I usually bring something with a bit more, OK a lot more sun protection.

It's a clothing optional event. Well, not in that way, you have to wear something. There are new people who obviously won't have a previous shirt. Some of us have one from each of the previous years. I'd think if you are wearing a event shirt that would allow for different headgear.

the clothing requirements are

Close toed shoes Mandatory!
Long Pants required
Cotton shirt, Long sleeve recomended, short acceptable, does not need to be an FSAE shirt
Hat HIGHLY recomended!! can be any hat you like that provides shade and does not consist of fresh fruit or live critters... :mrt:

The SAE hat is a gift from SAE to use in case you forget your hat...

From what I understand, We will be given orange vests to wear while in the dynamics area

see you out there....
