While I haven't heard of any pending legislation here against fast street tires, if this bill passes in the UK, could we be far behind?

Tire manufacturers are very creative and they will find ways to work around any of these new standards and still deliver good grip.

Here, that would require changing of the DOT requirements, which seems unlikely.
The UK does not use the same requirements, so it's easier for them to ban those tires.

The article wasn't clear whether the ban was for street use or for manufacture and sale.
