Fantasy Football and Other Sports

Post by Dennis R. Brown, DDS »

Just curious if anyone is interested in playing Fantasy Football, and other Fantasy sports when their respective seasons start? Now is about the time when we need to start forming our leagues so we can get decent draft days and times. I've played mainly on Yahoo! Fantasy Sports site, but started using the ESPN Fantasy site during the NCAA Men's Tournament. I liked the fact that ESPN now offers more prizes, and for the most part is free, unless you want to join leagues that offer bigger prize awards. So starting with this year's MLB season, I played several teams in both leagues. Sadly, I have grown to like ESPN more than Yahoo!.
I've been using the Yahoo! site since 1998, and it was better than ESPN's site at the time. However, over the years, Yahoo! has started charging for many of the features they used to give away for free, and ESP N has done the opposite, now offering the same technology as Yahoo!, but for free. I've collected enough of the Yahoo! cheesy 1st place bobble-head trophies to fill my shelves, and prefer to shoot for winning the cash and trips that ESPN offers for league winners.
I would like to start a few Football Leagues on the ESPN site if enough people are interested. We can play for free, where pride and bragging rights will be the prizes, and/or we could do cash leagues, where pride, bragging rights, and money will be the prizes. For starters, we'll see how many people are interested in playing. Respond to this post, and when we have enough people to get started, I'll post the information needed to join the league. I hope we have enough playas to get things started.

WE should shoot for 8 players to have the makings of a good league. However, I will open up the league once we hit 4 people.

Here's the Fantasy Football League address information:

You should be able to link to the site with the address above. If you have problems let me know and I'll send invites via email

Pm your email addresses and I will email an invited directly from the league. That's what I wanted to do originally, but I couldn't use the CSCC PM addresses to send invites. It bounced all the invites back.

Need a few more people, experienced or not. Trust me, it makes the football season even more enjoyable. PM your email address, and I'll send the invite(s).
