Ceramic Header Coatings
Anybody have a favorite header coating place? Any better or worse from a performance stand point?

JetHot, AZ ... if you don't mind shipping ... fast and fairly inexpensive. $60 for my WRX downpipe:

The real deal and I've used them on a number of my own and customer parts. Learned about them when I worked at ford Aerospace and they did the nozzle parts for the AIM9M Sidewinder.

Re: Ceramic Header Coatings
I've had my old stuff coated @ a place called "Olympic Coating" in San Diego - good service & quality, but a little far for me.
I now use another place in Huntington Beach: Specialized Coatings
Service is top notch, coated both sides, & prices were cheap (less than jet hot, etc).
Their stuff is still holding up despite my lack of car & a small engine bay fire... a small amount scratched off when I was installing the turbo setup, but that was mostly my fault - not very careful while installing.
Amazingly, I don't have any "after" pics of the parts I had coated; however, you are more than welcome to check it out in person (what you can see w/ all the extra wrapping & shielding I put on my setup after said fire - nothing w/ the coating but more w/ position of the part).

Do exhaust parts need to be new in order to take a coating?

Sweet! I didn't know it had all of those S T A N D A R D features. Seems like extra weight for auto-x though.Bob Beamesderfer wrote: I think it's this car; Steve's keeping it real:

Re: Ceramic Header Coatings
I can send them out to Embee. They do all my pistons (thermal barrier and anti-friction) and header coatings. I'll have to check on prices, They pick up and deliver directly to my shop.
