The hardtop version of that car was the first car I ever owned. Bought it in 1970 when I was 16 for $600. Sold it when I was 17 for $600. Yours is only the 3rd one I have ever seen with the factory tach. Must have only come on the 4 speed SS models. The picture of the back seat sure brought back memories.

Just thinking out loud... wouldn't you have a better shot at selling it for what you want locally here in SoCal vs. on the internet with the car in PA?

Though you address the "rust" issue, it would be much less an issue if the car were located in CA than on the eastern seaboard. I know when I was looking for the Impulse RS, I automatically eliminated any car on the East Coast then mentioned rust, or had evidence of rust in the photos. I didn't mentally do that with West coast cars.

Is that the only 64 Impala in the country not made into a low rider?

Nice car!

Bring it to California, get an appraisal and a high agreed to value insurance policy. Then let the low rider guys steal it.

Sell it to someone in Japan, they buy these Classic American cars at a premium.

I've heard about selling to Japan and other overseas countries, but I don't know if I can take on that kind of challenge (time wise) right now. Anyone know someone who has sold a car to an international buyer that I could talk to?

I've thought about bringing it out here many times, but finding a place to keep it where it WILL NOT get stolen and or destroyed is a problem as I don't have a garage. Perhaps if I can't sell it on eBay I'll bring it out here or look into selling overseas?

Thanks for the advice guys!

A friend of mine does import from Japan to the states, but I'm not sure if he's exported from here to there though. I'll see if he can point you in the right direction as far as selling and shipping the vehicle.

I can try to track down the Swedes; a former co-worker knows a couple of them. They come to the States once or twice a year to buy parts and ship them back in containers; can't see why they wouldn't buy a whole car.

I had a 64 Impala SS convertable. First car I ever bought on spec. Was kind of a basket case. Bought it for $1,200 sold it without doing anything to it for $1,700. Thought I had cut a fat hog. ( side note; this was 1979 ).
Either way.. it got the ball rolling for me in the buying and selling cars thing.
