91 octane not available at AAA speedway

Post by KJ Christopher »

Message from Brian:
I need to give you a heads up that as of now, we no longer have 91 unleaded fuel for sale trackside. The AQMD has deemed that the above ground tank we had does not meet their new regulations. We are working on a solution with the fuel provider, but I don’t know that it will be resolved prior to your upcoming event.

We continue to have 98 unleaded race fuel onsite, just not 91 octane street fuel.

If anyone needs 91 unleaded for their vehicle, they will need to bring it with them, or drive offsite and fill at a retail station.

My apologies for any issues this may cause. We are working on a resolution that is within the confines of AQMD regulations.

Regards,

Brian

??? I didn't think we were allowed to patronize the AAA Speedway gas station, no "exploring" the facility and all. :?:

Yeah, we have to "stay in our room" but everyone else can wander from event to event. I've long had my doubts about the *exact* nature of that supposed rule.

Yeah a couple people were caught warming their cars/tires up so everybody pays the price. Nothing new, we tossed a couple out of El Toro once. Had the same problem at Norton.

Some people are so competitive that they want every extra little advantage that they can get even if it hurts us in the long run.

Yeah, what, four years ago? We've had to kick the karters out when they thought they could park in our paddock, road racers who know Solo people come by all the time, and the most frequent speeders on the access road are drivers of full-size pickups with sport bikes in the back.

How does driving over to the fueling station and BUYING fuel violate any site rule?

So are we allowed to go to the fuel facility or not? I would like to buy 98 Unleaded if it's cheaper than 7.00/ga.

I don't see how you can get gas from AAA's pumps. Are we given the keys to the locks on the pumps? When we (Redline Time Attack) use either the infield or the Roval, we (Redline) are responsible for the pumps. We are given the keys to the locks on the pumps, and we would have time slots where the pumps would be opened. One of us would be working at the pumps and log the numbers of gallons used.

I guess unless the Cal Club road racers are there and willing to sell us fuel, it's not happening.

Tell you what.

I'm using it. If you want to throw me out. Throw me out, I'll get some weekends back.
Not that anybody would ever throw me out of a CSCC Solo event... Oh wait we do have some assholes don't we.

But I'm tired of the crap. It ends now, one way or another.

As far as I care, I don't have a problem with people going to the infield. Sometimes there's free food there!!!

I don't think the Speedway does either; it's Point A to Point B for a legitimate purpose.

Sounds to me like the Speedway wants to sell fuel.

Let's see.... Apologize for one not being available.... Tell you what is available.... Oh yeah but you're banned from coming here? Hardly.

I participate in every aspect of motorsports at the Speedway. I have friends at every aspect of motorsports at the speedway. I've been telling them to visit me, because I can't visit them. I'm tired of the outright Bullsh*t. I don't squirrel. I don't warm tires. But there are two upcoming weekends this year where we plan to run TWO different motorsports events at the speedway on the same day. Tell me now if we aren't welcome at CSCC Solo, it will make the day less hectic.
