Where I can get spherical mounts for Koni 30s/miata?

Post by Christos Adam »

Hi guys

I'm thinking of getting the KONI 30 series for my miata.
From what I heard these are coming as the shock bodies so I'll need to source the mounts.

I was wondering if anyone here has previous experience with spherical mounts and knows which companies are the best and what will work in a miata.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

We offer 30 series and also bolt in spherical top hats for the miata.

The top hats are $500.00 for the complete set of front and rear. 30 Series would be $2200.00 for the complete set which includes your choice of steel or aluminum body.

Thank you so much Jeff!
Do you think the travel would be compromised due to size of the spherical mount? }:)
For example I was looking at the spherical mounts that AST has and it seems that they are more ompact.

What about the bottom mount, does pro parts have spherical mounts for the bottom too?
Do the 3012s come with the threaded body and the coilover sleeves?
Would I need to buy anything else other than the springs?
Thanks again!

The Koni 3012's or 3011's will have spherical bearings at the bottom that will have spacers. The 3012's are an aluminum threaded body so you would not need a coilover sleeve. The 3011's are a steel body that would have the coilover sleeve located by the snap ring on the body.

A side note, the 3012's will allow you to use a 2.25" or a 2.5" Spring. The 3011's only allow you to use a 2.5" spring.

Since the spherical bearing mount holder is located on the bottom side of the mount, it will compromise travel, but we take that into consideration when we build the shocks.
