Sept 26-27 2009 Event- Reminder

Post by Glenn Duensing »

It'll be HOT HOT HOT!!!!! Bring lots of water, sun lotion, hat, sunglass, wet towel and umbrella.

Drink lots of water. Put several bottles in the freezer. It's great when you wrap a wet towel around it!!!!

Don't count on ice water at the site. We do and have run out before and if we are short on workers, nobody will be able to get more!!!

I believe water guns are optional. Remember if you bring a sprayer for your tires, the water will be HOT in the afternoon.

Have fun, be safe and stay cool!!!

Please remember, the water that we provide is intended for workers as they go out on course, not for people to take whenever they feel like it. Obviously, if you have used up the drinks you should have brought for yourself, and it's really hot, then you are welcome to some. We don't want people getting ill.

Mike bought coolers for each worker station ... he bought lots of water and ice. Water is already iced and ready to go.

Pete, Matt, Mike, Steve and Karen and I spent about 5 hours on the course ... with Mike, KJ, Joe and Brian Peters helping out. Brian's suggestions and reminders that it's AX and not mini road racing should give us a pretty nice course!

Thermometers were reading 107! ... but there was a bit of a breeze

put it in 2nd. you lost some huge time in the fast sections (on the limiter) and it doesn't look like you made good enough use of first gear to make up for it.

Thanks for the feedback, but I was never hitting the limiter... I was at least 500 rpm away from it... so if it sounds like I am hitting the limiter it is actually me baking out of the throttle... probably where I should not do that, but my 3 year old street tires do not have the greatest amount of grip...
Still, this was one of the faster courses this year and maybe I should have tried 2nd on one of my x-runs... 2nd has not been usable sine the April El Toro event, and I have tried a few times...

Tom Berry's first and slowest, clean run from Sunday. 60.9 if I recall.

I didn't record his last/fastest run... Bummer.
