My apologizes to Kathy!
After studying the vids (everyone) ... any suggestions on what angles work best ... or is it best to just try and get as long a run as possible. I thought the perfectly head-on slo mo clips of the long slalom from El Toro might have been the most informative angle?

I love watching the weight shifts, wheel spin, wheels in the air, contact patch both on and off, over driving, and the great drivers hitting the mark.Mako Koiwai wrote:My apologizes to Kathy!

The close up 3/4 shots with most of the car's wheels in the shot are my favorites.

I couldn't see any oversteer correction steering wise.Mako Koiwai wrote:What caused "Ron's Big Spin" ? http://www.vimeo.com/6810902
My best run through that section on Sat. was a perfect drift all the way through the chute, controlled by counter steering. Only about 8 degrees sideways. Flat too.

my favorite shots are head on (from the front or the back) shots of the outside tires(not necessarily head on of the car) of a turn at peak lateral acceleration with the outside tires in direct sunlight.Doug Teulie wrote:I love watching the weight shifts, wheel spin, wheels in the air, contact patch both on and off, over driving, and the great drivers hitting the mark.Mako Koiwai wrote:My apologizes to Kathy!

i've spent hours looking at probably 40 frames of video total......over and over and over.

so cool
like 0:17-0:20 of this video. if only the left rear tire stayed in frame all the way through. this 3 seconds of video is going to cost me a weekend of working on the car.

1:17-1:22 is pretty good too.
and 5:29-5:40 would have been bitchin if I could have seen the right side tires more head on.

There are a number of clips still of the Berrymobile, Toby's and Mike's car that I haven't posted yet ... trying to spread out the uploads. I'm almost finished with the "other" clips.

Re: Slow Motion Video Clips from Sept 26 & 27th 2009
There was one video that I've been warned not to post ... of a course worker running into frame at 300 fps to grab a cone. Think movie "10" and maybe there should be a Gals Only forum so that we Guys can have our own forum.

I also spend most of my time looking at what the wheels and tires are doing and how the suspension is reacting.

I was standing next to the Ekstrand palace on wheels when the first stage dropped off. I estimate it went 35-40 feet in the air. It was literally launched.Pete Loney wrote:My favorite stop motion frame so far... 00:32

We have cone "blood" on the rear bumper as you'd expect, but it also streaks up along the rear fender *above* the bumper. How'd it do that?!?Leonard Cachola wrote:lol - that cone comes back into frame at 00:47!Pete Loney wrote:My favorite stop motion frame so far... 00:32
