Trying to register for Friday practice

Post by Nathan Wright »

Ok, a couple more newb issues here.

I tried to register for the pratice the Friday after Thanksgiving but can only find registration for Championship. Are the practice days 1st come 1st serve?

Also, looked like practice was $60 but championship was only $30. Why is practice 2x the price? Or am I seein that wrong?

I'm not sure I can make the Championship, but the lookin at the registration on the axware site (only place I could find to register) I hit a bit of a snag. Problem I ran into is that it requires an SCCA#, I'd get one but don't have the money to drop on that now. How do I pre-register w/o an SCCA#? Or do I just show up and hope for open spots?

Last one (I think!), are any special kinda clothes required? I know that closed toe shoes and helmet (gonna have to try and grab one of the loaner if available), but do you also have to have pants and long sleeve shirt also?

thanks for the help, sorry , I know it's alot of different questions.

Online registration is just for Championships.

Practices and Schools are mail in. Follow the instructions on the flyer you'll find in the calendar section of solo2.com

To register for the practice you must click on the upper left tab to go to the CSCC home page and locate the practice event info to snail mail your check to the appropriate practice event registration POC. (George Schilling in this case)

The registration person will list the people who will be in the practice on the message board sometime before the practice event.
Gayle Jardine will be there in the morning to sell you a one day SCCA membership for $15 if you don't have an SCCA membership.

Championships are only three timed runs. Practice events are usually at least 12 runs.

Clothing required for men. Optional for the ladies... :heyes:

Nathan, for the practice, send a check to me for $60.

Dial ONE Schilling Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning
2502 Palm Dr. Suite J
Signal Hill, CA 90755

When you arrive at the site, day of the practice, Gayle will be there to sell you a temporary SCCA weekend pass for $15.

Leave any junk in you trunk or car at home. Air you tires to 40 psi before arriving at the site. If you forget, put the word out and someone will offer up some air. Don't hesitate to ask for help or instruction. It'll make it more fun. See you there. Call me if you have any more questions. 562-884-9850.

Championships don't have registration limits (well we do, but don't get close in the current economy) so there is no issue getting into one. Shoes and helmet are the only real requirement, many race in shorts and a t-shirt when it's hot. Pretty much whatever you are comfortable in.

Nathan-

Our procedures aren't obvious or easy and they change a bit. So, no shame in asking lots of questions. Our problem is usually the opposite, people assume way too much and don't ask!
