The tire came right at me. I got behind a stanchion and it smacked into it, ricocheting towards the motorhome where KJ was waiting to knock it down with his foot.

i'm not sure a mechanical failure is anything you can blame on the event.

Nice... Didn't know youtube had that option, COOL!

Toby seemed to have a better first third compared to you Aaron, but then you caught up by 3/4.

Here's my first run. Camera ran out of batteries before my last run, which was a 49.592. Not bad, considering I was driving on the crappy, narrow OEM run-flats. I almost won my first time out in the new car, but I realized I have a lot to learn and clean up as a driver.

Just for the record, I tech'd Irish's car and the lugnuts and wheels were tight. After the wheel flew off I went to Irish to find out what happened and he said
that one of the studs broke off early in the run and sense the lugnuts are alluminum they couldn't take the stress and stripped off.
He assured me that there was no way for me to detect the defect, as he had also tech'd the car himself before coming to the track.
I have to admit when I saw that wheel go I got that sinking feeling in my gut, knowing I was the guy who checked those wheels.
However I am happy that no one was hurt and that there was no additional damage to any other property.

Tom going all Electric on us ... always a step ahead. What was it like driving the eMini? Seemed to have surprisingly strong acceleration. Sure was easy to hear the tires squeal!
