Trim Pieces

As an anniversary gift, my wife had my chrome headlight rings, headlight washer covers, taillight rings and the grill surround on my new car painted body color. Problem is we had to ship all the pieces off to N. Carolina (got a great deal). The guy said they'll probably be shipped back Fri. or Sat., but they're going USPS ground so I'm not sure they'll be done for our champ event on 1/10. All these pieces are plastic, and they weigh, in total, maybe a 2-3 pounds.

My question is, does this fit under 13.2.A as an "appearance modification which [has] no effect on performance and/or handling and do not materially reduce the weight of the car?" In other words, can I still legally run on Sun. if my trim pieces don't arrive by then?

Its "illegal".

But I think totally appropriate at the local level given the circumstances. I would hope your SK2 compatriots would agree. Remember Kurt already carries a few more pounds than everybody in the class... ;)

Just bring a receipt for a couple double-doubles with cheese, two orders of fries and shake dated within a couple of hours of when you run. And maybe a cell picture of you eating..........

ha ha... reminds me of the Pro Solo at El Toro once.

I had to remove the driver door arm rest in my miata just so my fat but can even fit in the car. a lady noticed and said something like "you cant remove interior in CSP".

I mentioned that I am a big guy, and I cant close the door if it is installed. it was simply removed so I can fit, not for the 1 pound (if that) weight savings.... she still seemed upset I removed it.
I even made a comment like "I carry an extra 150 pounds to make up for it."..... she didn’t like that comment either. All well.

I figure there is nothing I can do about it. if someone wants to be a complete @$$, then I'll let them. I know its against the rules, but again, there is nothing I can do about it. }:)

so far, no protest…. But then again, its hard to protest a car that gets last place. :unimpressed:

on a local level I am more then sure you will be fine. its one race, with a good reason, with no significant advantage..... it would take a serious rule book Nazi to protest.

That's slick. I remember SCC did a mini buildup some years ago and had that done. It was kind of a smoked chrome look but it really did the car justice.

Nice work! If someone did throw a fit over something like that, they're taking regionals way too seriously.
