Committee Meeting - First of the Year/Decade

Post by Giovanni Jaramillo »

Reminder that the first committee meeting of the year/decade (2010), is as always the 3rd Wednesday of the month except December when there is no meeting due to the holidays. This Wednesday, the 20th is our meeting date.

PLEASE check the calendar as the time/date is subject to change. This goes to all club reps (especially the new ones) and all potential and current club members. If the date changes and you miss it, PLEASE DO NOT post a rant cursing and using expletives at us the committee as the post is subject to deletion by a moderator. This is a volunteer organization and we do our best to keep you apprised of any sudden date changes. If you have a concern please e-mail your club rep or the Chairman directly via our --> "Contacts" page.

Thank you.

So when is the meeting? Tomorrow or Jan 19th, 2011?

Yes.

Oh wait... you weren't merely baiting us, were you Rick. Meeting Wednesday, January 20th in the first year of the new decade, 2010. ;)

Same bat time, same bat channel.

Please be careful on the way to the meeting. Wednesday's storm might end up being the worst in years and it should peak about the commute time.

I'm with you here Steve. Not sure if we should give some thought to an alternate date. Both my cars have "race" street rubber and are ludicrously bad in heavy rain. I don't want to risk life and limb for a meeting!

They're great in the wet, but the car aquaplanes like crazy in standing water. Wide tires and a light car are not a great combo in a deluge. Driving home from that wet practice in December was one of the scariest drives I've ever had!

Yes you can, and it was only raining for about 200 out of the 16000 miles.

Drove on the RE11s that came on the wheels...not the most treaded tires out there, but no issues. shocked they stick harder with no tread than my Michelin street rubbers do WITH tread. go figure.

Debating the technicalities of whether it's the new decade or not, it WILL be POURING rain ala cats & dogs, so prepare to leave early for the meeting or expect a late start. Unless said meeting is postponed. Just throwing it out there to the powers that be :)
