Costco Bacon Bits ... since we don't keep "real" (sliced) bacon in our household, sauteing a bit of these when heating up the butter makes for some nice extra flavor with scrambled eggs/omlets/grilled cheese sandwiches/tomato soup/croutons, etc.

Yeah, it's got a fried egg on it, too.

You can get it in Anaheim Hills: http://www.slaters5050.com/home

One of the best new shows on the Food Channel is, "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," with each episode having a specific theme, "Salty," "Meat," etc. Tonight's show theme was Bacon! http://www.foodnetwork.com/the-best-thi ... index.html

One of the presenters favorite was the Bacon Chocolate Crunch Bar desert at the LA restaurant "Animal."

http://www.animalrestaurant.com/

The other "local" "winner" was the burger at Father's Office restaurant in Santa Monica, which features a bacon/onion "marmalade." If you've never had this burger ... served only one way ... you aren't yet qualified to discuss the Best Burgers!

http://fathersoffice.com/

Note, you have to arrive a half hour before the 5 PM opening time in order to get a table without an even longer wait!

I went to the one in Culver City (hour long uncomfortable wait to snatch a table for 6). The burger was good but didn't live up to the hype.
